Dating Violence
Dating violence is a common occurrence in these times. In fact, statistics show that one in three teenagers experienced dating
violence. This is an incident where one partner tries to control the other partner though display of
abuse.
Dating violence does not choose its victims and crosses racial, social or economic
barriers. Young women are the easiest targets for dating violence. Early on the
relationship, you should look out for warning signs that may lead your partner to be
abusive.
You need to remember that you do not deserve to be abused. If you allow your partner to abuse you
once, chances are the violence will get worse. Seek help and advice. You need to feel safe from dating
violence.
